Heel Pain
Experiencing heel pain? Our team of podiatrists and physiotherapists are experts in preventative care, treatment, and rehabilitation for heel pain.
Heel pain is a common problem for people of all ages.
It is often a ‘catch-all term’ for any condition that can occur around the heel, often causing chronic discomfort. Although heel pain is rarely serious, the pain can be severe and sometimes disabling. Pain in the heel is commonly caused by overuse and can affect patients’ ability to complete day-to-day activities.
The most common forms of heel pain are plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinopathy, however, there are several less-known conditions and reasons people may develop symptoms of heel pain.
It is vitally important to undergo a thorough examination and diagnosis prior to treatment.
How is forefoot pain diagnosed?
Our clinicians look at a detailed patient history, including time, course and foot mechanics to determine an accurate diagnosis. We combine this with careful foot palpation and a biomechanical examination to understand the limitations of movement and pain, and detect factors that may have led to the injury.
